There are three forces at work in the making of these instruments:
1. The musical aspect: I am a trained classical composer, graduated from the Berklee College of Music and The Boston Conservatory. Since 2009 I have served as Associate Professor of Composition and Music Theory at The Boston Conservatory.
2. The artistic aspect: I have always been attracted to the fine and sculptural arts and to have found my paint brush is a greatly appreciated gift. Brancusi, Kline, and Hokusai are my principle influences because I am drawn to their economy, composition and forms. My mother was also an amateur fine artist and her work hangs in my studio.
3. The scientific aspect: My father was a mechanical engineer and his fascination with materials, math, and construction are deeply ingrained in my being.
The instruments are available at art/craft fairs, through this site, and in retail shops catering to handmade artisan products (see "our stores").
I am honored to share this work with you,
